The Wedding Cake That Went to the Wrong House
Chapter 2 - An old argument
At a red light Daniel said he had attended her graduation party. Bea said she knew. She also knew he had left without saying goodbye.
He explained that her brother had told him she was moving overseas and did not want complications. Bea had never said that. She had thought Daniel's silence meant he considered her plans ridiculous.
They could blame her brother, but the road ahead required attention. Daniel asked why neither of them had simply asked the other.
"Pride is quicker," Bea said. "Until you count the years."
They reached the venue with twelve minutes to spare. Carrying the cake through a side entrance, they discovered that apologies were easier when both hands were busy.
