The Syndicate Tried Contesting My Grandfather's Land Trust—Until My Forensic Audit Seized Their Offshore Stables At Sunrise!
Chapter 3 - The Federal Extraction
The rotor wash tore across the roof of the stables, rattling the loose tin vents and whipping the manicured pines into a frenzy.
Two dark-olive Sikorsky UH-60 helicopters hovered thirty feet above the main polo field, their spotlight beams pinning Julian’s four SUVs against the stone manor walls.
The helicopters touched down with a heavy, pressurized hiss, the skids sinking into the manicured bentgrass.
Out poured eight federal agents wearing dark tactical windbreakers bearing bold gold lettering: USDA-OIG & IRS CRIMINAL INVESTIGATION.
Julian’s three attorneys immediately stepped backward toward the Navigators, tucking their leather folders under their arms.
"Counselors, stay where you are," an agent's voice boomed through an exterior megaphone.
Leading the squad across the grass was Senior Special Agent Miller, flashing an unsealed federal search-and-seizure warrant in a clear evidence sleeve.
Julian scrambled down the stable steps, waving his appellate document like a weapon.
"Agent Miller! I am Julian Sterling, managing partner of Sterling Apex!" Julian shouted over the dying turbine whine. "This property is subject to an active state court stay! Federal intervention violates civil jurisdiction!"
Agent Miller didn't break stride.
He walked straight up to Julian, slapping the evidence sleeve flat against the chest of Julian’s cashmere coat.
"Save it for the magistrate, Mr. Sterling," Agent Miller said, his tone dry as ash. "We aren't here for the land dispute."
Julian blinked, his arrogance cracking for the first time. "Then why are you here?"
"We’re here for the thirty-four million dollars in federal equine disaster relief subsidies Sterling Apex claimed across three fictitious breeding facilities in Montana," Miller stated coldly.
The three attorneys behind Julian stopped dead in their tracks.
"Disaster relief?" Julian stammered, his face losing its color. "That was... that was filed under an agricultural relief grant—"
"Signed by your personal digital certificate, Julian," I said, walking down the stable steps to stand beside the federal agent. "Transferred through an offshore shell company in Nevis, and converted into Argentine polo horses."
Julian whipped his head toward me, his pupils dilated with sudden, suffocating panic.
"How did you get the Nevis routing logs?" he whispered.
"Your father's chief accountant gave them up forty-five minutes ago," Arthur chimed in from the porch. "In exchange for a full non-prosecution proffer."
Julian lunged toward his lead vehicle, but two federal agents stepped into his path, their hands resting firmly on their tactical vests.
