The Arrogant VP Spilled Wine On My Boots And Threw A $20 Bill—Until My Midnight Injunction Evicted His Flagship Tower!
Chapter 2 - The Blockade at the Server Farm
I glanced down at the illuminated screen.
The notification wasn't an equity stay; it was an automated transfer alert from our Swiss escrow facility: New York consortium wire rejected. Originating account flagged under FinCEN anti-money laundering review.
I slipped the phone back into my pocket without reacting.
"Your New York consortium uses Crestview Capital, doesn't it, Donald?" I asked quietly.
Donald’s smug expression tightened around the jaw. "What does it matter where the liquidity originates? Cash is cash."
"Crestview was placed on a federal monitoring watch forty minutes ago," Marcus spoke up from behind his cane, his voice cutting through the traffic hum like a razor. "Because when Cole audited the telemetry servers at dawn, he found sixty-four gigabytes of encrypted offshore transactions running through Julian’s private partition."
Sterling flinched, his manicured fingers tightening around his blue-backed petition.
"That's proprietary data protected under attorney-client privilege," Sterling asserted, though his voice lacked its former bite.
"Not when it documents systemic tariff fraud and unlicensed hardware export to sanctioned ports," I countered. "Julian didn't just steal Marcus’s patents. He used the server nodes to bypass federal customs clearing."
Donald lunged forward, grabbing my sleeve with trembling fingers.
"You insolent little punk! You think you can walk out of a basement and dismantle thirty years of enterprise equity?!"
Frank stepped smoothly out of the town car, his massive frame shifting between Donald and me, forcing the older man's hand off my fabric with effortless leverage.
"Step back, Mr. Vance," Frank said calmly.
"Marcus, tell this lunatic to stand down!" Donald shouted, turning to his oldest son with pure desperation. "This family took you in when your mother died! We gave you an executive title! We put your name on the foundational patents!"
"You put my name on the patents so you could dodge corporate inheritance tax, Donald," Marcus replied, his eyes devoid of emotion. "And the moment I was wheeled into spinal surgery, you and Julian filed a forged power of attorney to strip my signature."
Marcus pointed his cane toward the street corner.
Two unmarked dark-blue Suburbans had just rounded the block, their amber grill lights flashing in synchronized pulses.
"That's not the SEC, Donald," Marcus added softly. "That’s Homeland Security Investigations."
Donald’s face drained of color as the front vehicles swung their noses toward his Taycan, boxing the sports car against the concrete median.
