Cheating Husband Moves Mistress Into Our Mansion—So I Sold The House For Cash While They Both Slept In My Bed!
Chapter 6 - The Swiss Horizon
Ten thousand feet above the snow-capped peaks of the Swiss Alps, the morning sun poured through the windows of the private Gulfstream G650, painting the cabin in brilliant ribbons of gold and amber.
Rochelle Obi sat in an oversized cream leather seat, sipping a hot cup of black Kenyan coffee. She wore a tailored ivory cashmere sweater and simple diamond studs, her laptop resting on the polished walnut table before her.
Across from her sat her Chief Technology Officer, David Chen, reviewing the live deployment metrics for Tessera’s new European cloud architecture.
“Frankfurt is fully operational, Rochelle,” David said with a wide, triumphant grin. “The Zurich financial exchange signed the multi-year enterprise contract twenty minutes ago. We’re officially live across eight European markets.”
“Excellent work, David,” Rochelle smiled, tapping her stylus against the screen. “Make sure the engineering leads in Bangalore receive their equity allocation bonuses by the end of the week.”
“Already handled,” David said, closing his tablet.
Rochelle’s personal phone buzzed on the armrest.
It was an encrypted satellite call from Arthur Sterling.
She tapped the speaker icon. “Good morning, Arthur.”
“Good morning, Rochelle,” Arthur’s cheerful voice boomed through the cabin. “The Swiss buyers have completed their final walk-through of 142 Westbourne. They are absolutely thrilled. They said the interior design was immaculate—especially the master suite.”
Rochelle chuckled softly. “And the escrow funds?”
“Nine million five hundred thousand dollars cleared into the Obi Capital account at RBC two hours ago,” Arthur reported proudly. “Clean, unencumbered, and fully executed. You are officially out of the residential real estate market in Toronto.”
“Thank you, Arthur. You’ll find your commission wired to your brokerage account by noon.”
“A pleasure as always, Rochelle. Oh, and by the way...” Arthur paused, a touch of dry amusement in his voice. “Marcus Vance asked me to let you know that the King Street agency has been completely liquidated. Gavin has moved into a shared basement apartment in Oshawa. Word is, he’s applying for entry-level graphic design jobs on LinkedIn. Nobody is biting.”
Rochelle looked out the oval window at the endless expanse of blue sky and blinding white snow below.
There was no bitterness in her heart. No phantom ache of grief.
For twelve years, she had carried a small, parasitic man on her back, believing that loyalty required her to shrink her brilliance so his fragile ego could pretend to lead. She had allowed him to confuse her patience for blindness, and her quiet strength for weakness.
He had tried to turn her home into a trap.
Instead, she had turned his betrayal into nine point five million dollars in liquid freedom.
“Tell Marcus to close the file,” Rochelle said softly into the receiver. “I don't care where Gavin sleeps. His name has been completely erased from my ledger.”
“Understood, Rochelle. Have a wonderful launch in Zurich.”
“Goodbye, Arthur.”
She disconnected the call, set her phone face down on the table, and took another sip of her coffee.
Beside her, David glanced up from his notes. “The press conference begins at two, Rochelle. The European tech journalists are calling this the most successful enterprise expansion of the decade. Are you ready?”
Rochelle Obi looked forward through the cockpit corridor, watching the brilliant alpine horizon unfold before her, vast, unbroken, and brimming with infinite possibilities.
Her lips curved into a serene, radiant smile—the smile of a woman who had stripped away the rot and built an unbreakable empire with her own two hands.
“David,” she said, her voice clear, powerful, and utterly free, “I’ve never been more ready in my life.”
